Sept. Dinner Out
Hi Everyone-
Late entry! We had 16 folks at our dinner out at Ali’s Bar & Grill. It is a small neighborhood bar- the only downside is we had 3 tables so we really only got to talk with the people at our table- but it was still nice and the food really good and not expensive!. Thanks again, Annie, for the find!
If you have restaurant suggestions, please forward to me and I will pass onto Annie, who has graciously volunteered to be our chapter secretary- including social activities. I cannot tell you how grateful I am! We prefer to alter areas of town so one group isn’t always traveling to the other side- so suggest away!
Our next meeting is Tuesday, October 4th. (And my sincere apologies to our Jewish members- I, of all people, should have been aware of the holiday and switched weeks!). Our topic this month is, “Handling The Holidays.” For those of us much further down the road, we have had time to figure out ways to make the holiday season meaningful, but not stressful. For those new to this grief thing, we know the dread and horrible anticipation is beginning as the stores already have Christmas stuff lining the aisles. Hopefully hearing how others have handled this time of year will be helpful to you and also nice to know that you aren’t alone in your nervous anticipation. I have always said I would like to go to sleep in November and wake up in February----
Reminder, our planning meeting will be Monday, October 24th at 7pm via zoom. I will send out invites a few days in advance. We will be working on the candle lighting as well as meeting topics/speakers for next year.
Stay well and enjoy this beautiful fall weather!
Karen
